Senior Claims Officer
Location: Melbourne (Mulgrave), Australia

Role
An opportunity has arisen for a professional person to join our Melbourne Claims Team as a Senior Claims
Officer. The role will include effective and timely processing of claims, meeting agreed code of practice
timelines, ensuring accuracy of claim details and cross checking claims settlements.
The main focus of the role is Liability and Property Claims handling, covering various responsibilities
within the Claims Department from administration and assessment to Claims settling.
Specific Responsibilities:
- The challenge of this role is to assist in the improvement the claims team in regard to Liability and Property claims.
- Senior Claims person for the handling and management of liability and property claims, provide
direction and support to manager in regard to this specialised area.
- Provide an estimate of claim within authorisation level.
- Liaise with loss adjusters and solicitor’s panels. Provide assistance and advice as required.
- Adopt a pro-active approach to the handling and management of liability and property claims.
- Analyse and review major clients (sporting Associations) policies and claims prior to their renewal each year.
Provide Claims Manager with feedback as to the value of client and risk assessment.
- Provide advice and training to claims team members.
- Work with manager to analyse and report on claims estimates versus actual.
- Attend conference and mediations as required.
- Liaise with fellow team members and underwriting staff as required.
- General administration duties.
- Other duties as required.
Candidate skills, strengths and attributes
- The person will be a detail conscious and focused personality able to work continuously to deadlines.
A team player with a proactive approach to “getting it right”. The person will preferably have a minimum
of 5 years previous experience in the insurance claims industry with a liability and property focus.
- Tertiary qualifications would be an advantage
- Intermediate level user of MS office (2002) particularly excel and word.
- Must have undertaken insurance industry code of practice course competency. Other industry qualifications would be an advantage.
Salary is negotiable for the right candidate.

Underwriter
Location: Melbourne (Mulgrave), Australia

Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a professional personal to join our Melbourne Underwriting team as an
Underwriter to produce and maintain profitable Sports and Leisure business in Australia and the Asia Pacific
region, in Liability, Property and Personal Accident classes.
The main focus of the role is to develop existing and new markets via our broker network whilst also underwriting
Sports and Leisure business profitably.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Analyse risks and calculate premiums
- Develop New Business Opportunities
- Develop Existing Markets
- Liaise with Broker Network
- Achieve Budgets
- Build and maintain relationships
- Assist with Business Planning
- Attendance at trade expos and client functions
Candidate skills, strengths and attributes
- Suitable candidate has at least 3 years Underwriting or Business Development experience
- Existing Broker contacts and ability to converse and deal with new brokers
- Tier 1 compliant
- Completed a Diploma in Financial Services
- Experienced in writing business in other territories will be an asset
- Willingness to travel and attend functions including after hours
- Drivers License
